LCWR Virtual Prayer Space During the Election

Introduction

The Leadership Conference of Women Religious has invited Religious Women across the U.S. and those they have invited, to unite in Silent Solidarity & Prayer for Discernment, Peace and Transformation during this time of Election.   This contemplative prayer began on November 4 at 12:00 a.m. ET and will continue until Midnight tonight.  Sr. Jenny signed OLVMs up for this particular time. We also invited those who join us for “Prayer for the World” each week, to be with us in this time of prayer.

These days of prayer are open to all, bridging the divide between culture, religion and politics through the witness and commitment women religious make to the power of collective contemplation.

Song:  In your Spirit gather us.  In your Spirit open our hearts.  In your Spirit, O God, guide and direct our path.

Contemplative Prayer:  Let us make the intention to open our hearts to the all embracing God of Love, present in our hearts and all around us.  You can focus on your breath as you breath in the Spirit of Love and Peace and breath out anxiety and fear.  (15 minutes)

Romans 5:2-5

Because of our faith, Christ has brought us to the grace in which we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to the day on which we will become all that God has intended.  But not only that—we even rejoice in our afflictions!  We know that affliction produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and character, hope.  And such a hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Contemplative Prayer (15 minutes)—again focus on your breath and the intention to be open to the all embracing love and peace of God.
