Over the past weeks, violent hate crimes have once again dominated headlines, with pipe bombs mailed to critics of President Trump, the killing of two African-Americans in Kentucky, and the mass shooting at a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh resulting in the deaths of 11 worshippers.
Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters strongly condemn all actions of violence and based on hate, and call for an end to an ever-growing culture fueled by divisive political rhetoric, deliberate misinformation and fear-mongering, especially those aimed at immigrants and minority groups.
The mission statement of OLVM calls for Sisters to foster justice, and to stand in solidarity with those who are oppressed or marginalized. They embrace diversity of race, religion, and gender, and welcome all to the table who seek equality, justice and acceptance.
