Victory Noll religious life is characterized by diversity and flexibility in prayer, community and ministry. It is a kind of faithfulness that can embrace the unknown and the questions of transition. It is also characterized by the kinds of hospitality and simplicity that find a Victory Noll woman standing with people in ministry – whether that ministry is direct service to the poor and oppressed or whether it is a ministry of challenging and changing the structures that oppress. She is a woman who is free to respond to the needs of the Church without being bound by institutions. And, she is a woman who comes daily before her God.

path to peace graphicIn the candidacy period (one to three years) a woman experiences the spirit of OLVM community life by fully participating in the life of a local house. During the novitiate (two years) a woman is given a place, time and presence to deepen her relationship with God to learn to “see” differently. This time of intensified prayer and reflection is also integrated with formation for OLVM apostolic life. At the end of the novitiate, a woman makes her first profession of vows, which are renewed annually for three to six years. The time of annual commitment is a time of integration of all the components of Victory Noll religious life – community, prayer and ministry. It is also a time of preparation for final commitment.

A woman is challenged to ask and answer the questions: “Am I growing as a woman of faith?” “Does my spirit fit the OLVM spirit?” God wants nothing more than for us to become our best selves and so Victory Noll Sisters offer a place, a time, a presence to encourage and support those who COME AND SEE.
