Cosmic Walk
7 p.m.

Program Overview

“In the beginning was the Word”

This is the opening of John’s Gospel and also the narrative of the Cosmic Walk.
Originally created in the mid-1980s by Sr. Miriam Therese MacGillis, the Cosmic Walk is designed to provide some sense of sequence in the “story of the universe” and in the Earth’s unfolding process. It also conveys a brief history of humanity, the uniqueness of each life event—of each unique expression of the cosmic story in the unfolding of the whole, of which each of us is a part.
You are invited to participate in our story and grow in appreciation of our interconnectedness with the Earth, the Universe and our gracious, creative God.

No cost • Donations accepted

My Story: Reflecting on the Path
of Spirit in My Life
10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Program Overview
Our stories are filled to the brim with the fullness of life: achievements, joys, struggles, grief, “figuring stuff out” to name just a few pieces. It is fruitful to think about the presence of God throughout this life. During this four week series, we will ponder questions, such as, What have I come to believe? What am I grateful for? How have various people or life experiences been my teachers (comforting or severe)? What brings me pleasure? What do I struggle with? What am I being “called” toward right now in my life?
Join us for a few hours of learning, reflection, writing and Grace, which will culminate in our own written spiritual autobiography.

Facilitator: Cheri Krueckeberg, MDiv, MSW, ACSW

Cheri teaches social work and human conflict and is the Gerontology Program Director at Manchester College. She loves to invite people toward discerning grace and purpose in their lives — through the deepest challenges, the most profound joys, and even in the “ordinariness” of our lives.

Cost: $35 for all four weeks • Journals provided

Helpful Explanations

Spiritual direction is the art of Christian listening carried out in the context of a one-to-one relationship for the purpose of being attentive and responsive to the movement of God’s presence, inviting one into a deeper relationship with God.
Private retreat is time and space apart for persons who search and hunger for deeper and quieter prayer, desiring to know God more personally and to spend time with Him.
Directed retreat is a private retreat as described above, with the assistance of a spiritual director.
