Monthly Reflection
by Sister Martha Wordeman

September 2009

When we speak of the story of creation, which is found in the Book of Genesis, 2:3 we are quick to realize that it is a story. The most important message of it is that God blessed the seventh day, God hallowed it because on it he rested “from all that he had done in creation.” The purpose was to establish a holy day for us to rest from our work too and have pleasure in God's creation.

But, did God's work end there? Any thoughtful person will readily see a constant unfolding evolution, since the beginning until now. So evidently, God still has an infinite number of new ideas for our healing and for our delight. God is inspiring people daily with new ideas never thought of before. Count as many as you can of all the new inventions that have appeared on the market in just the last five years.

God is not reluctant or stingy, when we pray “thy will be done.” God will gladly share with us his ideas for a new world of justice, peace, harmony and love.

Congar Institute
for Ministry Development

We want to minister to the culturally diverse Catholic population of this country, proclaiming Jesus Christ through evangelization, education and/or Christian formation. We would like to offer a solid Catholic teaching and ministries that speak to the needs of the faith communities, empowering the Laity, dedicating our prayer and ministry to the proclamation of God's Kingdom.
That is why we have become part of a network of religious communities collaborating to assist home mission dioceses in their efforts to develop lay leadership and ministry. This is an initiative of the Home Missions Leadership Conference and the Congar Institute for Ministry Development.
