Have you ever been gripped by intense fear? Jesus’ followers were, the night that a ferocious storm tossed their small boat about on raging waves. Jesus, peacefully sleeping like a child in his father’s arms, had to be awakened. “Save us! We are perishing!” they shouted. After calming the storm, Jesus asked, “Why were you fearful?” If I had been there, I would have blurted out, “Why was I fearful? Give me a break! We were drowning!” Jesus answered his own question when he added, “Oh you of little faith.”
Yes, Jesus, I have little faith. Watching the evening news is like being tossed about in a sinking boat: floods, fires, earthquakes are all natural disasters. However, corruption in government and in big corporations, global famine, endless wars, terrorism, race and class hatred are all human-made. “Jesus, increase my faith. Give me a share in your courage, trust and the tender love of your heart.”
But to be able to take on the attributes of Jesus, I must make room for them in my life. Through prayer and self-discipline, I must struggle to let go of the old, automatic responses: the “pre-emptive strike” theory must go and the “alien” must be welcomed. This is Jesus’ way. Face it! We must learn it! We must!
“Act justly, love tenderly, walk humbly with God.” Micah 6:8 Then, like Jesus, we will know peace.

+ Proclaiming the Gospel + Working for Justice + Empowering the Laity
We want to minister to the culturally diverse Catholic population of this country, proclaiming Jesus Christ through evangelization, education and/or Christian formation. We would like to offer a solid Catholic teaching and ministries that speak to the needs of the faith communities, empowering the Laity, dedicating our prayer and ministry to the proclamation of God's Kingdom.
That is why we have become part of a network of religious communities collaborating to assist home mission dioceses in their efforts to develop lay leadership and ministry. This is an initiative of the Home Missions Leadership Conference and the Congar Institute for Ministry Development. READ MORE
