Victory Noll is privileged to have, this year, a pair of Canada geese establish their “home” on our lake. We observe the development of their family life from our dining room windows. It is a marvel to behold! Human parents would do well to learn some basic principles from them.
They selected the “spot,” built the nest, laid and hatched the eggs. All the while, the gander patrolled the area. When a fox came too close, the gander flew at him and gave him such a fright, the fox ran for his life.
There will be strict protocol in bringing up the chicks, from little yellow rolling fluff balls to young adult geese. The chicks, in a line, will follow mama everywhere and daddy will be an everpresent, watchful guard. No one dares test him! When the parents have taught their offspring everything they need to know, they will lead their young adult geese into the vast blue sky to their winter home down south; They have followed God's marvelous design for them. Some belittle this, saying it is mere instinct. Thoughtful humans with free will could do well to develop such focused, attentive wisdom in rearing their own children.
To all our faithful, courageous, loving, wise, strong fathers blessings on this Father's Day and always.

+ Proclaiming the Gospel + Working for Justice + Empowering the Laity
We want to minister to the culturally diverse Catholic population of this country, proclaiming Jesus Christ through evangelization, education and/or Christian formation. We would like to offer a solid Catholic teaching and ministries that speak to the needs of the faith communities, empowering the Laity, dedicating our prayer and ministry to the proclamation of God's Kingdom.
That is why we have become part of a network of religious communities collaborating to assist home mission dioceses in their efforts to develop lay leadership and ministry. This is an initiative of the Home Missions Leadership Conference and the Congar Institute for Ministry Development. READ MORE
