In May we celebrate the "Song of Mary", it is a voice lifted up from the earth, a song of joy and hope for all people in their desire for happiness.
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my savior." (Luke 1:47)
It is a song of hope but also a call for committment on our part to make the world a better place for the poor, victims of war and natural disaster.
Our life must be filled with gratitude. It enables us to see our relationship with family, friends and community as a gift. In this we have a contemporary experience of the Gospel that cannot be over looked. We must believe in the promise God has made to us will be fulfilled. "The hungry will be filled with good things." (Luke 1:53)
The "song of Mary" is a song that goes to the heart of being chosen and loved by God.
