Monthly Reflection
by Sister Martha Wordeman

February 2010

February! Second month of the year! I asked myself: "Am I keeping my New Year's Resolution?" Then I realized "I had not even made a resolution!" Too much going on in January. Are you keeping yours'? Do you even remember it? Not to worry; each moment is a gift from God for a new beginning. And here is a great suggestion:

Be constantly on the alert to thank God for all the good people and good things with which you are surrounded. It is amazing what blessings this practice brings. Besides giving due praise to God, it makes our hearts and minds happier. We cannot have ill feelings toward someone for whom we are giving thanks. And a few warm days in February can urge shy flowers to appear; a great source for giving thanks to God, our Creator.

We Victory Noll Sisters once had a Spiritual Director, Fr. Solanus Casey, who often reminded us, "Appreciation! It's the sign of intelligence". Great resolution!

¡Febrero!

Congar Institute
for Ministry Development

We want to minister to the culturally diverse Catholic population of this country, proclaiming Jesus Christ through evangelization, education and/or Christian formation. We would like to offer a solid Catholic teaching and ministries that speak to the needs of the faith communities, empowering the Laity, dedicating our prayer and ministry to the proclamation of God's Kingdom.
That is why we have become part of a network of religious communities collaborating to assist home mission dioceses in their efforts to develop lay leadership and ministry. This is an initiative of the Home Missions Leadership Conference and the Congar Institute for Ministry Development.
