This month begins a New Year and a new United States government. Let us pray that all of us cooperate in welcoming new life into loving families and communities. In the book called The Mozart Effect.¹ Jack Kornfield tells of a tribe in Africa in which music surrounds a baby's conception and birth. When a woman decides to have a child she secludes herself and thinks about the child she is going to bring into the world. She composes a song for the child. She teaches the song to the man that will be the father . . They sing the song as part of their loving embrace in which the child is conceived. All during her pregnancy, the mother sings the song to the baby in her womb and teaches it to the midwives. When the baby is being born, they sing the song. All through it's life, on special occasions, the song is sung. at death, family and friends support the person with the song. What an ennobling practice!
In our modern world could such a thing be possible? Why not? Thought and attitude are powerful energies. One could choose a song that is already written.
My nephew and his wife sang John Denver's "Sunshine On My Shoulder" to celebrate their first son. Today, one might choose Laura Story's "Mighty to Save".
Foster loving care and rid our culture of its dependence on abortion for unwanted pregnancies. As Tom Key sings in the movie, The Cotton Patch gospel, "Turn it around, turn it around, surprise 'em a little, start shakin' the ground. To get right side up, turn upside down, now is the time to turn it around."
To be more responsible in bringing new life into the world there is a program that could prove helpful Natural Family Planning/Couple to Couple League. See, www.raxmedical.com

Hoy día pudieramos escoger "Mighty to Save" por Laura Story.
Vea, www.raxmedical.com .
