THE SPIRIT OF LOVE

It is by means of the Spirit whom Jesus has given us that we know that He remains in us. (1 John 3:23-25)

This is a matter of the spirit of love, not an automatic process of grace. We must be steeped in the love mystery of Scripture. "We love and experience the truth of the Word in doing it." (1 John 8:38)

Knowing we are in the truth is not merely a theoretical knowledge of faith, this is unknown in the New Testament. We receive the Word of God by hearing and contemplative attitude of loving receptivity and receiving the Word of God at each moment.

There is no longer a forumla, we share in the breath of the creator Spirit of love.

At times the Church and the Bible are objectified to the point of becoming a rigid institution. We would not be able to see God as being in the infinite cosmos unless we had already found Him as a spiritual being whose remembrance can never be buried.
