Sister Dolores Carlos, OLVM
March 12, 1926 — August 6, 2010

   SISTER DOLORES CARLOS, OLVM, 84, a resident of Victory Noll Huntington, IN, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at 9:50 a.m. at Parkview Hospital Huntington.
   Sister Dolores entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Jan. 3, 1947, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1949. She served in the missions in Indiana, California, Utah, Texas and Colorado. She was presently missioned to Imperial, CA, doing Hispanic ministry and advocacy outreach.
   She was born March 12, 1926, in Selma, CA, to Luis and Guadalupe Paz Carlos.
   Surviving are a brother, Joseph M. Carlos, of La Verne, CA, and a sister, Mary Landeros, of Azusa,CA.
   A vigil service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at the chapel, with calling one hour prior. Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery Huntington.

Sister Barbara Marie Witt, OLVM
December 2, 1924 —August 4, 2010

   SISTER BARBARA MARIE WITT, OLVM, a resident of Victory Noll, Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at 10:40 p.m. at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington.
   Sister Barbara Marie entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 27, 1945, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1948. She served in the missions in Michigan, Indiana, California, Texas and at Victory Noll. She retired from Food Service in 1993, and was a volunteer in her later years.
   She was born Dec. 2, 1924, to John and Eleanora Fohl Witt in Belleville, IL.
   A Vigil Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at 7 p.m. at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Fahey presiding. Calling will be one hour prior to the Friday and Saturday services. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington.

Sister Melanie Persche, OLVM
January 15, 1941 — July 28, 2010

   SISTER MELANIE PERSCHE, OLVM, 69, a resident of Victory Noll, Huntington, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 10:45 p.m. at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington.
   Sister Melanie entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Sept. 4, 1960, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1963. She served in the missions in Indiana, California, Texas, Missouri, Arizona, New Mexico, Boliva, South America and at Victory Noll on the leadership team as vice president for eight years.
   She was born in Yugoslavia on Jan. 15, 1941, to George Persche and Aloisia Hoefferle Persche.
   Survivors include two brothers, Gus Persche, of Moneta, VA, and Steve Persche, of Bath, NC, and a sister, Helen Gallagher of Bedford, TX.
   A vigil service will be held Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at 7 p.m. with calling one hour prior to the service at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. with calling one hour prior to the Mass at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel. Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside.
   Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery Huntington.

Sister Gertrude Salitrik, OLVM
March 2, 1911 — June 26, 2010

   SISTER GERTRUDE SALITRIK, OLVM, age 99, a resident of Victory Noll, died at 2:00 A.M on June 26, 2010  at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington.
   Sister Gertrude entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on August 31, 1938 and made first vows on August 5, 1941.  She served in the missions in Texas, Indiana, Michigan, California, New Mexico, and Colorado.   She returned to Victory Noll in 1992.
   Sister Gertrude was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on March 2, 1911 to August Salitrik and Anna Bezila Salitrik.  Four brothers, August, John, Elmer, and William Salitrik, and two sisters, Mary Salitrik and Julia Lazar, precede her in death.
   A Vigil Service will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, with calling one hour prior to the service at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W Park Drive.
   Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, with calling one hour prior to the Mass at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside.
   Burial will be at Victory Noll cemetery.

Sister Catherine Johnson, OLVM
April 26, 1924 — June 4, 2010

   Sister Catherine Johnson, OLVM, age 86, a resident of Victory Noll, Huntington, died  at 5:45 P.M. on June 4, 2010 at Holy Family Health Care Center Victory Noll,
   Sister Catherine entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on January 31, 1943 and made first vows on August 5, 1945.  She served in the missions in California, Texas, Michigan, Missouri and Kansas.   She returned to Victory Noll in 2008 to retire.
   Sister Catherine was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 26, 1924 to Martin Johnson and Clara Stansbury Johnson.  Sister is preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Passino, of Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Surviving are two sisters, Mary Ellen Zenk of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Elaine Rairden of Vallejo, California.
   A Vigil Service will be held at 7 P.M. on Wednesday June 9, 2010, with calling one hour prior to the service at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W Park Drive.
   Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday June 10, 2010, with calling one hour prior to the Mass at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside.
   Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.

Sister Evelyn Marie Davis, OLVM
April 25, 1916 — March 22, 2010

   Sister Evelyn Marie Davis, OLVM, 93, a resident of Victory Noll in Huntington, IN, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll.
   Sister Evelyn Marie entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 28, 1941, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1944. She served missions in California, Utah, Kentucky, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Indiana. She retired from the ministry in 1987 and returned to Victory Noll to volunteer.
   She was born April 25, 1916, in Mt. Clemens, MI, to Russell and Nina Allar Davis.
   A vigil service will be held Friday, March 26, 2010, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at the Victory Noll Chapel. Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.

Sister Margaret Gutierrez, OLVM
February 23, 1915— March 18, 2010

   Sister Margaret Gutierrez, OLVM, 95, of Victory Noll, died March 18, 2010, at 4:10 a.m. at the Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington.
   She entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Feb. 16, 1934, and made first vows on Feb. 11, 1937. She served missions in Texas, California and Oruro, Bolivia. She retired from ministry in Karnes City, TX, in 1998 and returned to Victory Noll to translate Spanish for the community publications.
   Sister Gutierrez was born in Duarte, CA, on Feb. 23, 1915, to James and Estefana Monges Gutierrez.
   Surviving are a brother, Carlos Gutierrez, and three sisters, Georgia Urrea, Consuelo Angel and Gertrude Romero.
   A vigil service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W Park Drive.
   A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the Mass, at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel. Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.
