Huntington Catholic students visit

Fifth-graders from Huntington Catholic School made a visit to Victory Noll October 8, where students walked the grounds and learned about the history and the natural aspects of the campus from members of the Victory Noll Cherish the Earth Committee
The first stop for the students was the Miami Peace Garden, where they learned about the Miami Indians and their connection to the area. Victory Noll Sister Mary Joan Ginsterblum talked about the Miami Peace Pole, which she carved from the trunk of a fallen blue spruce tree.

Sister Mary Joan Ginsterblum talks to students from Huntington Catholic school about the variety of trees and wildlife on the Victory Noll grounds during a visit by the students on October 8.

Sister Mary Joan, environmental caretaker of the Victory Noll grounds, gave students a tour of the many different species of trees found throughout the area, and discussed the varied wildlife that lives there.
Sister Irene DeMeulenaere talked to students about the cemetery at Victory Noll, telling stories of the some of the pioneering Sisters buried there. The students also learned about OLVM founder Father Joseph Sigstein and benefactor Archbishop John Francis Noll, who are also buried in the Victory Noll cemetery.
Madonna Jeffers, Victory Noll Administrator and member of the Cherish the Earth Committee, showed students around Lake Kateri, a pond on the Victory Noll grounds that is surrounded by the beauty of nature.
