Victory Noll group visits
"Women & Spirit" exhibit
A group from Victory Noll, including 11 sisters, three employees and two volunteers made a trip to the Cincinnati Museum Center on Aug. 20 to view the exhibit “Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America.”
The multimedia exhibit, organized by the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, covered the contributions of major U.S. congregations over more than 300 years. The sisters were honored for their pioneering work in establishing schools, hospitals and orphanages; their creativity and organizational skills; their courage in caring for victims of the Civil War; their sacrifices in times of natural disasters; their work for peace and justice; and their unflagging dedication to lift up the poor, the immigrants, the abandoned and the displaced. Among the most heart-rending videos were the ones about the devastating hurricane on Galveston, Tex., in 1900, and the story of the Foundling Hospital in New York.
The interviews of several representatives of active and contemplative congregations were inspiring, as was the video of the civil rights marches. The purpose of the exhibit is to reveal to the public how American sisters helped shape the nation’s cultural and social landscape as nurses, teachers, social workers and role models.
Visit the exhibit web site at www.womenandspirit.org for additional information on the exhibit.

+ Proclaiming the Gospel + Working for Justice + Empowering the Laity
We want to minister to the culturally diverse Catholic population of this country, proclaiming Jesus Christ through evangelization, education and/or Christian formation. We would like to offer a solid Catholic teaching and ministries that speak to the needs of the faith communities, empowering the Laity, dedicating our prayer and ministry to the proclamation of God's Kingdom.
That is why we have become part of a network of religious communities collaborating to assist home mission dioceses in their efforts to develop lay leadership and ministry. This is an initiative of the Home Missions Leadership Conference and the Congar Institute for Ministry Development. READ MORE
