Sister Marjorie Curran

Sister Marjorie Curran, 93, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at 11:45 a.m. at the Holy Family Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington.

Sister Marjorie entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Sept. 6, 1950, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1953. She served in the missions in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Arizona and Indiana.
She served as the general secretary for the community at Victory Noll and retired in 2001 to volunteer as the assistant archivist. She was very involved with the local Church Women United for several years.

She was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Iowa City, IA, to John and Annie (Gallagher) Curran.

A vigil service will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. with calling one hour prior to the Mass, at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Fahey presiding. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington.

McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
