 Mission Statement
The mission of the Sister Evelyn Mourey Center is to enhance the welfare of those who live in poverty in the Imperial Valley Community, making every effort to enhance their living conditions by providing food, clothing, social services and skills to prepare them to obtain better jobs.
Our Vision
To serve our community, especially families experiencing poverty or unjust situations. To enhance respect and dignity for all. To promote excellence in service.
Our commitment calls us to stand in solidarity with the poor and oppressed and to respond to their needs. It also commits us to foster justice and take a prophetic and non-institutional stance in church and society. These are embodied in the Mission Statement of the Sister Evelyn Mourey Center. The Sister Evelyn Mourey Center provides the following services to persons regardless of race, color, or creed:
- USDA commodities & emergency food provide assistance to families through EFSP/REAP
- Citizenship Class
- ESL Classes
- Computer Classes
- Healthy Families Insurance Program
- Cake Decorating Classes
- Senior Citizens Activities
- ALANON
 If the Center cannot provide assistance, the families are referred to other agencies in the Imperial Valley such as, housing, child support, medical benefits, translation of documents, spousal and child abuse, and legal assistance. We work in solidarity with:
- Campesinos Unidos
- United Way
- CRLA
- Housing Authority
- Neighborhood House
- Center for Family Solutions
- And other social agencies in the Imperial Valley
