Victory Noll Sisters have created “Come and See” communities in order to welcome women who want to experience the Victory Noll way of life. These Sisters are making a commitment to journey with women who are searching for a different way to live. They offer a place, time and experiences for vocation discernment and for the initial incorporation of new members.
Women may come and stay for a day, a weekend, a week, or for several weeks. In a sense it is not much different from that welcoming moment in John’s gospel where two would-be followers of Jesus asked, “Teacher, where do you live?” and Jesus simply said, “Come and see.”
These Sisters, together with women who come to see, explore new ways of being missionaries in today’s world, new ways to share our common search for God, new ways of journeying as women disciples, new ways of living in the spirit of Mary, and new ways of proclaiming the Gospel with the poor and oppressed in this millennium. They have accepted the challenge to explore Victory Noll life in a new context and at the same time to pass on the treasure, uniqueness, and gift of our communal heritage.
“This is what we are about: we plant seeds that one day will grow. We water seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise. We lay foundations that will need further development. We provide yeast that produces effects beyond our capabilities.” —Oscar Romero
Currently these Come and See Communities are located in Chicago IL, and San Bernardino CA. If you would like to spend some time with us discerning and exploring what it means to be a Victory Noll Missionary Sister, please contact us. Come and see where we live!
